Goalkeeper Ed Gettemeier earns a shutout the hard way as SIU-Edwardsville blanks St. Louis U., 2-0, before 9,149 fans at Busch Stadium. With two minutes remaining, he stops a penalty kick by Bills’ leading scorer Steve Sullivan. SIUE will go on to win the NCAA Division I championship, the last time a St. Louis team has won an NCAA D1 soccer title.
