Rob Acosta of the St. Louis Ambush is named the Major Arena Soccer League’s Defender of the Year. Acosta, signed the previous October after playing with MASL teams in Rochester, N.Y., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, leads the league in blocked shots with 49. Acosta will play one more season with the Ambush, then sign with the MASL’s Florida Tropics for the 2019-20 season.
