Alex Pfeiffer becomes the youngest player to score a goal in the history of the National Women’s Soccer League when she tallies in the 68th minute for the Kansas City Current against the Portland Thorns. Aged 16 years, 3 months and 20 days when she scored, Pfeiffer surpassed the previous record set by Olivia Moultrie in 2022. The St. Louis native scored in her NWSL debut. Pfeiffer already had established herself as one of the most promising female players in U.S. Soccer’s youth system, having scored 8 goals in six appearances for the U-17 U.S. Women’s National Team.
