Tim Ream is named player of the season for Fulham, one of England’s most historic clubs, just two years after Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic had told Ream there probably would be no place for him on the team. The St. Louis native responds by proving his worth to his manager. He not only keeps his place on the team for the 2016-17 season, but he becomes one of Fulham’s go-to defenders with 28 appearances in the second-division Championship starting in January 2017 through the end of the season. The 2017-18 season is even better for Ream as a starter in “Ream’s best season to date as he dominated strikers, kept a cool character at the back and showed leadership skills that were vital to Fulham’s run to (promotion to) the Premier League,” Ryan O’Donvan will write in the June 12, 2018, edition of  Football London. Ream’s 2022-23 season will be even better. He will captain the U.S. World Cup team, will play every minute of its games at the Cup, and will captain Fulham in its 10th-place finish in the English Premier League.
