Alyssa Mautz scores for Perth Glory against Sydney in the Australian W League final, but Sydney wins 4-2. Mautz is one of the top women’s professional players in the history of St. Louis soccer. Primarily a midfielder, she will play primarily for the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women’s Soccer League, scoring 16 goals in 143 games from 2013-2022. She played on loan from the Red Stars internationally in the NWSL off-season, mostly in the Australian W League with Perth Glory and Adelaide United. The Fort Zumwalt West High School graduate played one season at St. Louis U. and transferred to Texas A&M for her last three collegiate seasons. She played on the under-20 U.S. National Team that won the 2008 U-20 Women’s World Cup and also played on the U-23 U.S. Women’s National Team. She will become the women’s assistant soccer coach at Texas A&M after retiring in late July 2022.
