The MISL All-Star game at Madison Square Garden in New York is heavily influenced by St. Louis soccer. St. Louis Steamers’ players have major roles in the Western Division’s 8-5 win over the East. Don Ebert, Tony Glavin and Ty Keough score a goal apiece. The Steamers’ Pat McBride coaches the Western stars and former St. Louis Stars player Don Popovic coaches the East. Attendance is 13,710. Madison Square Corporation president Sonny Werblin tells the New York Times that the paying crowd is 9.073. ''I'm pleased because the game grossed $78,000,'' Werblin said, ''which is much better than some of the college basketball doubleheaders we've had.''
