St. Louisan Josh Sargent is man of the match as he scores the first goal in Werder Bremen’s 2-0 win over Carl Zeiss Jena in the DFB Pokal (German Cup). The 20-year-old Sargent breaks a scoreless deadlock in the 49th minute. He will score 13 goals in 72 appearances for Werder Bremen, his first professional club, from 2018-2021 before moving to his current team, Norwich City, then in the English Premier League. Norwich will be relegated to the second-division Championship after the 2021-2022 season. He will suffer a serious ankle injury while scoring for Norwich on Aug. 26, 2023, that will be expected to sideline him until late December or early January.
