Oct. 23, 2016: Brad Davis retires, capping a 15-year pro career that includes six MLS All-Star selections, one MLS Best XI selection, two MLS Cup championships, 17 caps and one start for the U.S. in a group stage match at the 2014 World Cup. The Chaminade High graduate was the Conference USA Freshman of the Year in 2000 and a second-team All-American in 2001 at St. Louis University. He turned pro after his second collegiate season. Davis credits his development as a player to “a ton of help over the years from many coaches,” he tells Dave Lange in a 2019 interview. “I was never the biggest, fastest or strongest kid. However, my technical ability and my ability to read and understand the game was something I truly developed under Tom Howe with Scott Gallagher and Mike Gauvain at Scott Gallagher and Chaminade High.”
